Woodland Heights Medical Center Making Progress on Emergency Department Construction Project
7/10/2024
Lufkin Texas (July 10, 2024) – Woodland Heights Medical Center continues to make progress on the emergency department construction project..
Beginning Wednesday, July 10, several of the newly constructed exam rooms as well as a new nurses’ station will be utilized as construction begins to move even more into the current emergency department.
“Patients needing emergency care will continue to use the temporary ER entrance (across from the Medical Office Building),”states Woodland Heights Medical Center Emergency Services Director Stephen Bennett. “There will be no change in the current temporary flow so patients will not notice a change until they see the new rooms.”
Throughout the construction project, EMS will continue to utilize the ambulance bay.
“We are excited to see the great progress in opening up some of the new rooms and nurses’ station,” states Jose A. Echavarria, CEO of Woodland Heights Medical Center. “We appreciate the continued patience and support of our medical staff, Woodland Heights team members and our patients as we work to complete this project.”
The $13.5 million renovation and expansion project is expected to be completed this fall.
