Woodland Heights Celebrates Milestone
12/29/2014
Lufkin, TX (December 18, 2014) - Recently, Woodland Heights Medical Center celebrated a hospital milestone. The facility has had more than 1,000 deliveries in the calendar year 2014.
Woodland Heights has seen an increase in deliveries in the past several years, with 60% growth from 2010. The celebration was a hospital-wide event, as this increase in patient volume affects many departments throughout the facility.
In December 2013, Woodland Heights opened the first Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the deep East Texas area. While the comfort of having a higher level of care has contributed more mothers wanting to deliver at Woodland Heights, the facility has seen a steady increase over the last four to five years.
"Our staff works hard each day providing the best of care to our patients," states Casey Robertson, CEO of Woodland Heights. "We appreciate their hard work and we are proud to serve the patients that entrust us with their care."
