Woodland Heights Offers Home Sleep Testing
8/26/2016
Lufkin Texas (August 26, 2016) – Woodland Heights Medical Center is now offering a home sleep apnea test for patients. The ApneaLink™ Air provides the performance and reliability of ApneaLink products in a sleeker, easier to use device.
Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder characterized by pauses in breathing or periods of shallow breathing during sleep. Each pause can last for a few seconds to several minutes and they happen many times a night. In the most common form this follows loud snoring. This device will now offer patients to be tested for sleep apnea in the comfort of their home.
“Each patient is given personalized, one-on-one education on how to use the equipment properly,” states Deana Wilde, RN, Director of The Sleep Laboratory at Woodland Heights. “The patients will also have written instruction and the phone number to our Woodland Heights Sleep Technician to call for questions or if a problem occurs.”
In addition to the personalized instruction given by the Sleep Technician, other benefits of the ApneaLink™ Air include improved usability with one-touch operation, longer recording time and good signal indicators, as well as reliable analysis and validated results.
