6/30/2022
Lufkin Texas (June 30, 2022) – Woodland Heights Medical Center’s Chest Pain Coordinator Vicki Holster, R.N., recently completed a certified tobacco treatment training program in conjunction with MD Anderson and the Council for Tobacco Treatment Training Program (CTTTP).
The course is intended for health care providers and behavioral health professionals, who counsel patients toward full cessation of tobacco and nicotine products.
“As a former smoker, I am happy to have more tools and strategies to help others in becoming smoke and nicotine free,” states Holster.
Local non-profit The Coalition approached Holster with the opportunity to take the intense 40-hour class that also came along with a lengthy exam to become certified in Tobacco Trained Specialist. The program offers the highest quality of tobacco treatment training based on the most up-to-date evidence-based tobacco cessation research and treatment strategies.
