Our Chaplain and Patient Advocate, Rick
Williams, was training to be an airline pilot when he sensed
a call to the ministry. He has served Woodland Heights since
2004.
As chaplain, he provides spiritual guidance to patients and
the hospital’s staff. In his Patient Advocate role, Mr.
Williams works with patients and their families on hospital
concerns.
Although Mr. Williams is fairly new to Woodland Heights, he
is approaching the start of his thirtieth year in the
ministry. He has served some of the nation’s largest
churches in New Orleans, Daytona Beach and Albuquerque. He
pastored for ten years in Lufkin before joining the hospital
staff.
Mr. Williams attended the University of New Mexico on a
baseball scholarship before transferring to Embry Riddle
Aeronautical University to further his education and flight
training. After college, he then completed his formal
education at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Rick
and his wife, Melody, have two daughters and one
granddaughter.
