Jose
Capellan MD
joined the Woodland Heights Medical Center Board in
2007. For the past 11 years, Dr. Capellan has been in private
practice for pulmonary and critical care in Lufkin. Prior to this,
he practiced at Provident Hospital in Chicago and also had an
Internal Medicine Practice.
Dr. Capellan graduated from Pedro Henriquez Ureña National
University in the Dominican Republic and performed his Pulmonary and
Critical Care Fellowship at Cook County Hospital in Chicago.
He is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the
American Board of Pulmonary Medicine, and the American Board of
Critical Care Medicine. He also holds memberships in the American
College of Chest Physician, American Thoracic Society, and American
College of Physician.
Dr. Capellan and his wife, Dr. Agricel Lugo-Gonzalez, have three
grown children – two boys and one girl. In his spare time, he enjoys
traveling, tennis, and dancing.
