Specialized Health Care
Now Available in Jasper
When it comes to specialized health care, the Woodland
Heights Specialty Center delivers. The new facility, which
is located at 103 West Gibson in Jasper, is offering
state-of-the-art health care in cardiology, pulmonary,
allergy, and medical oncology. Additionally, the Specialty
Center has welcomed Dr. Abdul Khan, who is board certified
in family practice.
According to Center Director, Michael Gilmore, the physician
practices are open and accepting patients. “We are delighted
to offer the residents of Jasper and the surrounding areas a
variety of services that are delivered by physicians who are
highly skilled and trained in specialized fields of
medicine.”
In addition to providing specialized health care, the
Woodland Heights Specialty Center will offer patients X-Ray
and laboratory testing. “By offering these services,
patients will have the convenience of taking care of the
majority of their health care needs in one location.” In the
future, the Woodland Heights Specialty Center plans to offer
ultrasound, bone density, and stress testing.
The Woodland Heights Specialty Clinic hours vary; however,
the physicians will be in the Jasper office weekly. Family
Practioner, Dr. Abdul Khan, will see patients Monday through
Friday 8:00-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-5:00 p.m. Dr. Khan treats
children and adults and accepts most insurances.

The Woodland Heights Specialty Center is 5,000 square feet
in size and houses 9 exam rooms. There are two entrances to
the facility—One for specialty care and the other for family
medicine.

be scheduled by calling the specialty physicians’ practices
in Lufkin.
New Family Physician
Locates in Jasper
Abdul Khan, M.D. announces the opening of his family
practice office in the new Woodland Heights Specialty
Center, located at 103 W. Gibson in Jasper.
Dr. Khan is certified by the American Board of Family
Practice. After having served his Family Practice residency
at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, Ill., Dr. Khan
has been participating in Faculty Development Fellow with
the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania.
He also has completed programs as a Clinical Observer at
Carolina Healthcare Systems in Charlotte, N.C. and a
Clinical Research Assistant it UT MD Anderson Cancer Center
in Houston.
Dr. Khan, along with his wife, Zakiyya and their three
children, Sofia, 4, Tamanna, 2, and Rahil, 4 months, have
recently moved to Jasper. “We look forward to working and
being involved in our new community,” Dr. Khan said.
Education is a key component to health care, and Dr. Khan
said he wants to help residents learn more about their own
health as well as more about maintaining a healthy
lifestyle.
Dr. Khan provides care for adults and children and accepts
most insurance. His office hours are 8 a.m. – noon and 1
